"You don't lead by pointing and telling people some place to go. You lead by going to that place and making a case."

MarDon Resort is a popular destination for generations of sportsmen and their families. The resort wanted to make changes to adapt to a new community of travelers and sportsmen looking for an affrodable destination. The problem was we just entered a recession, local travelers stayed closer to home and other issues started to wear down. When I first met Marilyn and Mike we had discussed options on how we can rebrand and structure a strategic marketing initiative that will enhance the resorts image but also provide opportunities to expand growth and development. With a small budget we managed to rebrand MarDon showcasing its best features, add special events to draw locals and new business, and market thru digital and print media with the aim "it was about the water." Mardon lies on one of the largest Fresh water lakes in Cental Washington near Moses Lake. By looking at the data, analytics combined with social media reviews we were able to target a unique customer experience. By doing this in conjuction with updating features and amenities, Mardon stayed in the black during the recession and grew in popularity and size.

SOME OF THE TASKS THAT WE SUCCESSFULLY completed:
  • A successful rebrand and development of a new interactive website
  • Created a social platform that connected travelers in real time often redirecting their travel destination from other campgrounds
  • Initiated 2 campaigns for local regional connections and a campaign to draw national and international travelers from Canada and the U.S.
  • MarDon expanded its footprint and enlarged the resort to add big rig RV's, camper cabins and home rentals
  • Recently just added a new mini golf feature next the the lake
  • Added play areas such as a backetbal and volleyball court and other family features
  • A new marina was rebuilt to accomodate for more boat recreation
  • MarDon becaome known as another popular fishing destination among professional sportsmen
  • Improvement in both growth and population of fish due to expanding Fish habitat
